Velaiyilla Pattathari a.k.a VIP is a movie starring Dhanush, Amala paul, Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthrakani, Vivek and others directed by Velraj and produced by Dhanush. Vip is Dhanush's 25th Film.
Dhanush is a engineering graduate who doesnt get a job for his studies. Amala paul is a dentist earning 2 Lakhs per Month ( Pal Pudungradhuku Avlo Thaarangala?). Samuthrakani and Saranya has played as Dhanush's Dad and Mom. Amitesh @ Amul Baby is the Villain in VIP.
Dhanush acting skills are improving day by day. His expressions and body language is great in this movie. Amala paul is, surprisingly, very cute looking and lovable. Saranya has played her usual mom character. Samuthrakani has done a casual role as Dhanush's dad. Amitesh is good looking and suits the "Amul Baby" role very much. Dhanush's Brother character, Surabhi.Vivek are other notable characters.
Vip is a good entertainer with a traditional success formula. Songs are good and Background score is a pillar to the movie. Anirudh's Music is criticized that it is similar to his previous movies, but it is not a problem unless his music is similar to others. Dhanush fights are good, but it would be better if he doesn't remove his shirt. Maybe he believes that he is Indian Brucelee. Even though we love Dhanush, we can't compare him with Brucelee. So Dhanush please don't remove your shirt until you develop your muscles.
Regarding the story, Its very usual.Starts with a Hero without a job,then he gets a lover, loses his mom, gets a job, gets a 300 crore rupees government project, villain tries to spoil his project, Hero wins. Few logic less or usual scenes which might be questioned by audience are teased or answered in the movie by themselves. For eg: Samuthrakani says, "Ivan Amma Sentiment Thanga mudiala". If this dialogue is not in the movie, the same might have been said by the audience.
First half is full of entertainment with love scenes, Amma,Appa Sentiment and so on. Second half starts with the sad song and a few scenes were sentimental, and after vivek's entry once again the movie gets entertaining and a expected happy ending.Overall the movie is worth your money.
