sadhuranga vettai movie
Sadhuranga Vettai (2014) is a movie starring Natraj,Ishara,Ponvannan,Ilavarasu and many others directed by H. Vinoth, who has made a stunning debut with Sadhuranga Vettai in kollywood. Natraj @ Natarajan Subramanian @ Natty is a known face. Natraj has acted in few films like Naalai, Milaga, etc. He is a well known cinematographer for many movies like Youth,Jilla, Parineeta, Jab we Met, Raanjhanaa and so on. Ponvannan and Ilavarasu are other known actors apart from them a lot of new faces are casted in Sadhuranka vettai including heroine Ishara.

The movie starts with first episode Pannayarum Double Deckerum. Natty's Character is shown in this episode where he cons Ilavarasu and sells a Snake for lakhs. In the next episode he dreams bigger and does a bigger fraud selling local tap water to hundreds of people under the brand name "Magic Pearls". There he meets the heroine. She falls in love with Natty like all cinema heroines (Only a Single Touch).

After selling a snake named, "Ilayathalapathy Vijay" successfully to Ilavarasu, Natraj (Gandhi Babu) is caught red handed by tamilnadu police while trying to sell Ajith to another client. After about 200 hearings and a lot of money involved Gandhi Babu is released from prison in a very quick time. But he is caught by villian's gang this time. Villian starts off very well with his pure tamil (senthamil) slang which makes the scenes funny.

Second half is a normal tamil film where love brings out the positive side of the hero and he starts living a peaceful life with his wife. She gets pregnant and the villains enter the scene for revenge. Hero agrees for the one final heist and villain promises to leave him and his wife. But he plans to murder the hero and heroine. And we all know what will happen in climax.

Sadhuranga Vettai is made a exciting watch thanks to the powerful dialogues and exciting screenplay. Gandhi Babu's Character is portrayed in such a manner that even when he says about his past you can't guess if he is telling the truth or just cooking up a story. Yes people where laughing in theatre while the character is telling about his mother's death. Natraj has done justice to the role with his dialogue delivery and timing sense.  Heroine is shown as a very normal innocent and kind girl (villaina thiruthura alavuku rombaaa nallava).

Sadhuranga Vettai would have been a very normal movie without some of the dialogues. The main success for the movie is the dialogues placed at the right moment.

Super Scenes:
  • Jewellery discount Scene.
  • Police Interrogation.
  • Rice Pulling.
  • Sadhuranka Vettai Arambam-Episode.

Mokka Scenes:
  • Heroine was not very attractive, so all her scenes were mokkai sorry Ishara :P
  • Villain trying a lot to help the heroine (Overa Nenja Nakka Try Pannirundan)
  • Some routine scenes like hero's transformation from bad guy to good guy.

Favourite Dialogues/Quotes:
  • Oru Poi Sonna Adhula Unmayum Kalandhu Irukkanum, Appo than adhu Poi nu Theriadhu
  • Raja voda Velai, Velai Seiradhu illa Velai Solradhu
  • Indha White & Whitea pota udane aduthavana emathuradhuku oru thani dairiyam vandhurudhu la
  • Natraj Narrates his idea and asks one of the villians if he understood the plan and he says no. Natty replies with a great timing, "Unaku Purinja nan Vera Idea Yosikanum".
  • Indiava Singaporea mathurenu solli vote vangi jeyikranga, and India innum Indiava than irukku, Apdina avangalum nammala ematha thane seiranga. Avangala en ninga arrest panala?
  • Young policemen beat the hell out of Natraj but couldn't get any info on the money. Now a old policeman enters the scene telling that he can get the truth from his mouth. Goes in and talks sentimentally for 5 mins with Natraj, Natraj simply replies, "Poda Potta"
Confusions of India:
  • Not a Big deal but still the Villian starts off with a nice senthamil slang. Hits a man for talking in English ( Phone nu Sollitanam Alaipesi nu Sollama). The Tamil spoken by him was applauded in many scenes. But in the later part of the movie he quits his tamil and starts talking colloquial tamil and even he uses the word Phone instead of Alaipesi. If it was maintained throughout the movie it would have earned more claps!
My Rating: 7.3 out of 10.
