Vaayai Moodi pesavum is the second film for director Balaji Mohan, Starring Dulquer Salman,Nazriya Nazim, Madhoo, Pandiarajan, Vinu Chakravarthy and others. VMP is definitely a better attempt by Balaji after Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi.
Aravind (Dulquer) is a sales executive who has the ability to solve any issue through his speaking skills, atleast he thinks so. Anjana (Nazriya) is completely opposite to aravind. She doesnt speak much and has a demanding boyfriend (Similar to Kutty Shriya). John vijay plays "Nuclear Star Boomesh", who is facing a problem for defaming the Drunkards in his movie "Ettana kudu Engana vudu". Drunkard association head Robo Shankar wants to ban the film while Boomesh's fans support him. At this scenario the place panimalai is affected by a serious disease "Dumb Flu" which affects the vocal cord and results in dumbness in some cases death.
Due to the dumb flu, Health minister(Pandiarajan) issues a emergency act prohibiting people to talk as the disease spreads only through talking. Madhoo (Roja fame Madhubala makes a reentry) plays stepmother of nazriya. These are the lead roles in the movie.
First half sound and second half silence, This is the formula used by Balaji. A different attempt in both halfs hero dulquer did a great job. Mamooty's Son make a sparkling debut in tamil. Nazriya underplayed in VMP after a lot of bubbly roles. Madhoo and the small boy playing her son were good too. Vinu chakravarthy played a different character.
Both dialogue comedies and the second half comedies were good. Dulquer was very expressive and sure he can continue acting in tamil. Balaji criticized the issued such as ban issued on movies like Viswaroopam and so on. All characters did their roles perfectly. Different attempt by balaji which succeeded if measured with tamil standards.
Talk where you should and Shut when you have to. This is what Balaji tried to say in his movie. If we avoided unwanted talks a lot of problems would have not been there. Overall the movie is good. A One time watch.I Dont think that it wud be funny like the first time.
